Welcome to my online teaching portfolio
Currently I am in the credential program at California State University San Marcos and will be getting my Single Subject Credential in Biology in May 2015. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology at California State University Northridge. While I was in college, I had an opportunity to work with students of all ages and backgrounds at the California State University Northridge Aquatic Center. From that experience, I knew I had a passion for teaching and wanted to make a positive different in student's lives.
I am a substitute teacher at Vista Unified School District and at San Marcos Unified School District. I have had opportunities to work with both high school and middle school students. I was personally requested by a high school in Vista to finish last year as their site substitute. Substituting was an awesome experience for me. I was able to see what it was like to be in front of the classroom and to lead instruction before I even started the credential program at California State University San Marcos. I believe if you have any question about being a teacher, become a substitute and you will quickly realize if teaching is the profession for you.
There isn't a profession more rewarding than teaching. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to guide students through their learning experience, to make education fun and exciting. To give every student in my class to tools they will need to be successful not only in the classroom, but outside of the class. There is no other job that is more important to society than teaching.
